The Energy Control Center (ECC) houses one of the most advanced and extensive energy management tools available in a campus environment. The ECC serves as a centralized location for the monitoring, analysis, and forecasting of energy supply and consumption across campus. Cutting-edge energy management software enables energy engineers to optimize the production and distribution of steam, electricity, and chilled water while reducing costs and energy use.

 

 

 The Iowa State University College of Design is one of only a half-dozen design schools in the U.S. where the same mix of disciplines -- architecture, community and regional planning, graphic design, interior design, landscape architecture and studio arts -- is housed in the same college, under the same roof.  In August 2009, ISU dedicated the King Pavilion, a 23,735-sq.-ft. addition to the north side of the College of Design.

 

 

 Eric O'Brien, University of Northern Iowa (UNI)  Sustainability Coordinator, presented to IAEE members on energy efficiency activites occuring on the UNI campus.

 

Russell Wasendorf Sr. moved his company, Peregrine Financial Group Inc., from Chicago to Cedar Falls and opened the $18 million PFGBest headquarters to Cedar Falls in the Fall of 2009. 

Environmentally freindly construction materials and methods were used in nearly every aspect of the 50,000-square-foot, two-story structure built on a 26-acre site in Cedar Falls.  The company is currently in the process of applying for LEED Gold certification.
