Several times each year IAEE coordinates tours to places such as energy efficient homes and businesses, factories that produce energy efficient building materials, energy production sites, and construction sites while energy-related products are being installed.

Aviva USA's new 360,000-square-foot insurance headquarters in West Des Moines recieved gol LEED certification.  The recognition makes it the largest building in Iowa to receive gold certification.  Features of the buiding include: Use of natural light, Motion-sensor and auto-dimming lights, High efficiency ventilation systems, with individual air flow control's for each employee, water efficienct fixtures, etc.
