IAEE Leadership Spotlight - Suzanne Hull, Executive Director

05/17/2022

As part of the Association's strategic plan, IAEE began the process to hire an executive director. The IAEE board and personnel committee worked hard to find the right person for the job.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I moved to Des Moines in 2001 after spending two years living in Cologne, Germany. After working for the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Hy-Line International, I decided to start my own business in 2009 helping organizations integrate social media marketing into their existing marketing efforts. I began working with my first boutique membership association in 2013 and have enjoyed working with additional associations over the years.

My husband and I live in Pleasant Hill and enjoy traveling, cooking, cycling and socializing with family and friends.

What brought you to IAEE?

When I read the LinkedIn job posting, I was excited to learn that the Executive Director would be helping execute the Association's strategic plan. Few non-profits of this size have put in this work and I was interested to learn more about the organization and how I could help. We're working on a number of new initiatives and I can't wait to help role them out!

While preparing for the interview, I came across this video of Andy Pohren promoting the 2021 Iowa Energy Summit. That clinched it for me.
